This class was held by our board vice-chairperson, Deidra Maurer. The topics covered were child-care, fire safety
and first aid. The speakers were: Shiela, the public health nurse; Brian Smyth, Bienfait fire chief;
and Darren Cochrane, certified first-aid instructor. At the end of the program the kids had to pass an exam to recieve
their certificates. As part of the program, the kids were taught what to take with them in there "Babysitting Kits".
As well, they had to babysit an egg 24 hours a day for the length of the program. After babysitting the egg, they had
to write an essay about how they looked after the egg. Participants in the course were: Lucas Smyth, Lexine Schlamp,
Rebecca Osiway, Taylor Odgers, Austin Shurygalo, Jessie Fitzsimmons, Jill Carlson, and Cory Johansen. Congratulations!!!
